TRADITION SINCE 1921
Get to know the history of Martinské hole
The Winter Park Martinky resort is also magical because it has a rich history. It follows the tradition of skiing on Martinské hole, which has been going on for a whole century. Several historical landmarks had an impact on the development of skiing in Martinské hole. The first was the foundation of Sokol (1919) and the Club of Czechoslovak Tourists (1921). Within the framework of both organizations, a ski club was established, which already in its beginnings organized cross-country ski races through the streets of city Martin. The second significant landmark was the establishment of tourist huts on the ridges of Krivánska and Lúčanska Malá Fatra.
We will be happy to tell you about the history of skiing as part of a guided tour. You will learn about the construction of the first cottages on Martinské hole, you will learn about the history of ski lifts and you will also get to know the story of a unique snowmobile that comes from the resort in Innsbruck and is displayed near the Nová Ponorka restaurant.
